Contingency & Emergency Planning

Updated: 8 December 2025

Please note: The information contained in this chapter sets out good practice that should be considered by event organisers. However, it is industry guidance and does not necessarily cover everything that organisers need to consider for a particular event.

Consider what actions need to be taken in case of an emergency (e.g. fire on site, crowd injuries, stormy conditions etc.) and prepare action plans so that those involved know what to do if they need to act.  This should include how to handle an evacuation of the event should it be needed.
